machine_dove at 04:54pm on 18/01/2004Yesterday was...interesting. I made the mistake of taking double the dose of my happi droogs I'm supposed to take on Friday night, and ended up sleeping...pretty much all day. I woke up at 11, and went back to sleep at 1. Narcolepsy is fun!
I've been packing all day today, and it looks like I'll run out of boxes (and places to put them...) before I'll run out of books. Still, I have most of them safely stacked in the back of the spare room, and I dragged all the Goodwill stuff out of there and into the living room, where it's all piled up. I would have taken it to Goodwill today, but Erik wants to go through it first.
Odd how packing up stuff increases the amount of clutter and mess...
It looks like we're still on track to move in March, and since I won't be replacing the floor in the back of the house we'll stack most of the boxes and whatnot in the laundry room while we do the painting and build the bookshelves into my library. And that's...pretty much it for the repairs we need to do before we move in. I need to get a pantry and more kitchen cabinets, too.
Removing the ginormous fugly kerosene heater from the middle of the living room is going to have to wait until probably September. I'll hate it, but I'll deal. The flooring will come sometime after that - again, I'll hate having to move everything out, but I'll deal. Hopefully the siding will be done before we move in, and I can replace the major appliances one at a time as we save up the extra cash. And furniture - I'll need more of that at some point, but I'll worry about that later.
